By far Logan's best and cheapest mechanic!
I checked with a handful of places to see who could get it done the quickest. Glen at Auto Evolution said he could have it done in a week. In addition, the prices he quoted were some of the best I'd heard. I checked the reviews, and it seemed like a no-brainer.
My daily driver got to the point that it was using a quart of oil every hundred miles. Because it's my only means of transportation, I waited for a convenient time to repair it. I pulled the engine and determined that I'd need some machining done to the block.
It was a huge inconvenience having to make do without a car for two months instead of the 1-2 weeks I'd planned for. I don't like hassling people. I don't like leaving bad reviews. I just want honesty and what I pay for. I've heard great things about Auto Evolution in the past, so this is really unfortunate, but if you need machine work done, I recommend that you steer clear.
My car wouldn't start at a local diner in Logan. It was just the cherry on top of a crappy day. It just so happened that the owner of this shop was eating at the same place I was and offered to assist me. He was one of the kindest people I've ever met. He didn't talk up his shop, he didn't ask me for any money. He just jump started my car and told me exactly what I needed to do to solve the problem. Anyone who is willing to do that for me is outstanding, and while I still haven't been to his shop, he has my business whenever I have issues with my car.
Every time I go to Auto Evolution, I have a wonderful experience. I suggest them to everyone I hear that needs work done. Very friendly and willing to talk me through what needs to be done in a way I understand it. Thanks Mike and Doug!
The workmanship and customer satisfaction experience was the best that I have experienced in years, they are unbelievable !
I had to play that game of cat-and-mouse for a whole TWO MONTHS before he finally finished the work. If I hadn't started calling frequently, I don't think he would have ever finished the job. And when I finally went to pick up the block, I was charged almost double the prices I was initially quoted ($330 instead of ~$185).
I dropped off the block and waited for him to take some measurements and give me the specifications I'd need to order bearings, pistons, etc. He said he'd call the next day to let me know. He didn't. After a few days, I decided to call. He was unavailable, but I was told he'd call me back. A few days passed, and he still didn't call me back. I kept calling, and eventually he did call me back. He just made excuses.
